Day 2 // 0722P

Had a busy day today, but still no leads. Visited three or four of the major ports in the local star system, places that are usually crawling with seedy folks looking for someone to ship illegal goods. That’s where the money is these days, for those of us still in the game. Especially since the Dominion has outlawed just about everything in the known galaxy.

Fresno and I were surprised to find every port we visited crawling with Dominion Guards. Looks like they’re really cracking down. Someone would have to be crazy, or extremely desperate, to want to do business with so many DGs around. Wound up treating ourselves to some Fried Glark and Blue Cosmos in one of the port restaurants. Put a nice-sized dent in our credit account, but it helped lift our spirits a bit. Fresno had one too many Cosmos. Had to practically carry him back to the ship. Just relaxing now, watching some local alien channel on the tele-portal. We need a new one. The picture quality on this one is terrible. However, buying a new tele-portal is not high on my list of priorities right now, so the one we have will have to do.

I’m tired, but not tired enough to sleep. My mind keeps racing. I feel as if we’re racing against the clock to try and find a solid lead. Sun keeps trying to contact me, but I’m ignoring her calls -- I don’t want to talk to her until I have some good news to report. I was supposed to be home three days ago. The plan was to pay the rent and take her out for a well-deserved romantic dinner. So much for that idea.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I also hope Fresno doesn’t have a hangover. He can be a real pain when he’s cranky.
